Dear Pinotage lover

The 2021 harvest kicked off with a bang in the early morning hours of Wednesday 25 February.
The fire, which raged at the same time in the mountains surrounding Stellenbosch, created a slightly eerie backdrop as the sun peeked out from behind the Simonsberg mountain.
This is the latest we have ever harvested our grapes for the Beeslaar Pinotage - a direct result of abnormal, cool vintage conditions during the growth- and ripening phase.
We were fortunate enough to harvest our grapes just in time to avoid any possible smoke taint, and although it was a very strange growing season with regards to the cool temperatures, I'm very excited about the quality prospects for the wines we will be making this year!

#SaveSAWine (and our restaurants)

We are in a fortunate situation at present where there is no ban on the sale of alcohol in South Africa. As an industry we felt the disconnect with government during this period, but we also felt the goodwill and support of all our loyal customers.
World-class wines, however, is no fun without a great meal, and our restaurants need your support in order to get back on their feet - please visit your favourite local eatery too.
Like we did last year, we will once again be contributing 10% of all our website sales to Stellcare Stellenbosch, until the end of March. Please visit their website for more details on the incredible job they are doing to better the lives of families, and especially children, in the greater Stellenbosch community.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and loyalty. I have some punch-downs to do, and by the time we speak again, I'll be able to give you a full run-down on the 2021 harvest.
If you just want to say hello, or have any queries regarding our wines, feel free to send us an email.
Until next time, stay safe, and fly the Pinotage flag high!
Best wishes,
Abrie Beeslaar
