Making a Difference

Mercer Stauch '26 and Alex Bude '26 are University of Puget Sound’s two newest Matelich Scholars. The pair were awarded the prestigious scholarship in recognition of their outstanding potential to excel academically, succeed as inspirational leaders, and give back to their communities through sustained personal growth and a lifetime relationship with the university.

Hacks & Chops

Last month, Assistant Professor of African American Studies LaToya Brackett and alumnus Jaylen Antoine ’22 traveled to New Orleans, La., to present at the Popular Culture Association in the South's annual conference. Antoine presented his senior thesis on the intersection of sports, hip-hop, race, and masculinity, while Brackett presented her research on African hair stories.

Upcoming Transition to Google Mail and Calendar

Technology Services is in the process of transitioning our email and calendar system from Microsoft Exchange to Google Mail and Calendar for all students, faculty, and staff. This transition will allow for larger mailbox sizes, improved account security, and enhanced functionality for integration with other Google Workspace applications. To minimize disruption to academic activities, the transition will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023. Your @pugetsound.edu email address will not change.

We've Come a Long Way

Since our founding, University of Puget Sound has had many homes. In 1908, around the time this photo was taken, the campus occupied the corner of Sixth Avenue and Sprague Avenue (now the site of Hilltop Heritage Middle School). Here, faculty and students pose for a photo outside of the college's main building. Fifteen years later, construction would begin on our current campus, starting with Jones Hall.
