February 17: A summary of news and events to support faculty success
  • Faculty members are invited to attend “Masks Off: A Mardi Gras Celebration” at noon Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the EMU Ballroom, hosted by the Division of Equity and Inclusion, the Office of the Provost, and Office of Human Resources. “Masks Off” means come as you are—we will celebrate our authentic selves and enjoy the magic of Mardi Gras through food and music. R.S.V.P. today and laissez les bon temps rouler at UO!
  • A reminder that today, Feb. 17, is the deadline to submit nominations for Williams Fellowships, as well as proposals for Williams Instructional Grants to fund faculty ideas for undergraduate teaching and curriculum projects. The Williams Fund supports excellence and innovation in undergraduate education and recognizes great teachers who also are innovators and collaborators.
  • For academic program changes to go into effect fall term 2025, revisions must be fully approved by the end of winter term. If you have changes in process, or want to make changes, please contact Program Manager Denita Strietelmeier to find out what timeline is possible for your program’s approval.
  • The deadline to apply for the 2025 UO Foundation Trustee Excellence Grant program is 5 p.m. April 7. The program is open to faculty members from all disciplines. Awards will be made to two faculty members who demonstrate plans to advance high-impact scholarship and research in instances where faculty resources and/or external funding are limited.
