| WRJ Mission Statement
Women of Reform Judaism strengthens the voice of women worldwide and empowers them to create caring communities, nurture congregations, cultivate personal and spiritual growth, and advocate for and promote progressive Jewish values.
WRJ focuses on three main areas:
|
- Cultivating sisterhood
- Inspiring spiritual growth
- Mobilizing collective social action
|
|
|
The Power of WRJ
One of the most common questions we get is "Why WRJ? What can it do for me?" This video explains how the group makes a difference in the lives of so many. WRJ also empowers us to become better leaders, to advocate for change, and to share what it is to be a Reform Jewish woman. It is an excellent video to share with your own sisterhood.

Meet the WRJ Executive Committee and Board. They help articulate and promote our vision, develop and implement major initiatives and policies, inspire women leaders worldwide, and consult on project strategies essential to WRJ's success. We are especially proud that the current WRJ President, Executive Director, Vice President of Social Action, and one of the Board members are proud women of the Northeast District. Some of the officers will be changing this month, so look for updates later this month.
You can view a database of all WRJ affiliated sisterhoods. There, you will also find the form to fill out for any changes in leadership for your sisterhood.
Have a question for WRJ about sisterhood business? Contact WRJ Director of Engagement Heather Lorgeree at 212.650.4063 or hlorgeree@wrj.org. You can also reach the rest of the WRJ staff.
Mighty Networks is an online bulletin board that we use to share information about upcoming events, social justice items, and much more. We have our own Northeast District space there. Don't have an account there yet? Click here to sign up for Mighty Networks. We helpful videos on how to navigate the site here.

| Yom HaShoah Book Talk event on May 5th, 2024
The Temple Etz Chaim Sisterhood in Franklin, MA, held a book event for Holocaust Remembrance Day. The book was My Mother’s Eyes - Holocaust Memories of a Young Girl written by Anna Ornstein, MD (a psychoanalyst and a Hungarian Jewish survivor of the Holocaust.) Anna’s book tells stories of her family in times before, during, and after World War II. Miriam (Anna's daughter) shared family stories and her mother’s story which were heartfelt and powerful. The group of about 27 people (including community members) were moved by the opportunity to have this time to talk about their family stories and their connection to the Holocaust.
