The Center for Global Health is pleased to recognize GMED students Nancy Kaul and Nihmot Adebayo for their poster presentations at the annual Department of Psychiatry Research Extravaganza. Both students work under the mentorship of CGH and Department of Psychiatry faculty member Dr. Mary Bunn, contributing to vital research on community-based mental health interventions for forcibly displaced populations.
Nancy Kaul presented "Participatory Adaptation and Redesign of a Family Strengthening Intervention to Improve Emotional Regulation," examining culturally responsive approaches to strengthen family systems and promote mental wellness among displaced communities.
Nihmot Adebayo presented "Peer Services in Behavioral Health: A Scoping Review of Medicaid Funding to Inform Policy and Practice for Refugee and Newcomer Populations in the US," exploring funding mechanisms and policy frameworks to enhance mental health service accessibility and sustainability for refugee and newcomer populations.
We congratulate Nancy and Nihmot on their excellent work and contributions to advancing health equity through evidence-based research.
