Beyond Ready Tomorrow: Youth Empowerment in 50 Years |
Youth empowerment is all about using your voice, building leadership skills, and making a difference; right now and into the future. It’s young people working alongside adults to create positive change in their communities.
Think big. Think bold. Think about the future YOU.
Ask yourself:
What does it look like when someone is truly involved in their community?
How can young people take action and be civically engaged?
What problems are youth solving in 2076?
How are youth leading, speaking up, and creating change?

Statewide LEGO Brick Build Challenge: Vehicles |
|
|
|
This spring, we invite youth and adults to participate in the LEGO Brick Build Challenge. This challenge encourages participants to imagine their dream vehicle and then create it using LEGO bricks. Where will your vehicle take you? How will it move? Will it travel under or on the water, through the air, or on the earth’s surface? Does it rely on tracks to stay on course or can it fly through the air to anywhere? Does it require a special launch system? Grab that LEGO tub and build a model to show the rest of us what a cool vehicle you dream about.
Submission Details
• Due Date: June 1, 2026
• Submit Here: https://go.wisc.edu/96x8z9
• Topic: VEHICLES
• Each participant or team may submit one entry.
• Entries may include up to three photos of the LEGO model taken from different perspectives.
• When submitting, please indicate whether the entry is from an individual or a team. Youth and adults are both welcome and encouraged to participate.
A virtual Viewing Party will be held on June 7th, where all submitted creations will be showcased and celebrated. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your imagination and creativity, see how others use Lego to bring their ideas to life, and enjoy the creations of other LEGO fans.
We look forward to seeing the unique and thoughtful LEGO creations that represent your dream vehicle.

Badger Dairy Camp returns to UW-Madison in July
The Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences and the Dairy Innovation Hub are excited to
announce the return of Badger Dairy Camp to the University of Wisconsin campus from July 9-12, 2026. The goal of this program is to educate youth about the breadth of areas that contribute to Wisconsin's dairy industry and the higher education and career opportunities available. The program includes hands-on workshops, tours, and recreational activities for youth ages 12-17 as of January 1, 2026.
Faculty and dairy industry leaders in land and water stewardship, animal health and welfare, human health and nutrition, farm business and community, and linear evaluations and dairy judging will lead the hands-on workshops. College preparation workshops will be tailored to the camper’s current grade level in collaboration with CALS. Youth will network with peers, current students, and faculty through recreational campus activities, including volleyball, bowling, and a bonfire at Picnic Point.
Campers will have the full student experience, staying and dining at the Dejope Residence Hall (double occupancy; roommate requests available). The camper registration fee of $175 covers approximately half of the program expenses, including the dormitory, meals, and recreational activities. The remainder is funded by grants and industry sponsorships.
Applications are now available. The camp is limited to 100 campers, and applicants will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. A mailing list for applications and more information about the camp is available at https://andysci.wisc.edu/badger-dairy-camp/. You can also contact Megan Lauber directly at (262) 902-3156 or badgerdairycamp@ansci@wisc.edu.
