City of Wheat Ridge Staff at Carnation Festival Parade

Wheat Ridge Next Chapter

The city's theme for the Carnation Festival Parade this year was Wheat Ridge Next Chapter, and we got a few questions about what that means. In this next chapter we are reinvesting in our infrastructure, elevating DEI initiatives, and updating our city’s master plan and our Open Space Management Plan. We are committed to our residents and none of the work we do would be possible without their support.
Thank you to the Wheat Ridge community for putting your trust in local leadership to continue making Wheat Ridge a vibrant city.

Wadsworth Blvd Approved for Additional Work

The City of Wheat Ridge announced additional funding is now available to construct permanent improvements at the south end of the Wadsworth corridor, focused on the 38th Avenue intersection.

The additional work is part of the Wadsworth Improvement project, which broke ground in late 2021. The project includes modernizing and improving Wadsworth from 35th Avenue to I-70, with efficient and safe intersection designs, safer entrances and exits for vehicles accessing businesses, a continuous sidewalk on the west, and a bike/pedestrian path on the east side of Wadsworth from 35th Avenue to the Clear Creek Trail.
Construction has focused on the area from 41st Avenue north to I-70 including building the continuous flow intersection (CFI) at 44th Avenue. The second CFI at 38th Avenue and final improvements south of 41st Avenue to 35th Avenue required additional funding.
Completing the full project now will save money, eliminate the need for temporary work, and prevent having to come back in future years to make the ultimate improvement at the south end of the corridor. The project is now slated to be complete in spring of 2026. The city is thankful to federal, state and regional partners who together, have funded more than 75% of this project. The city is also grateful to Wheat Ridge voters who approved a sales tax increase in 2016 to fund a portion of this project.

Become a Ridge Ranger and Help Keep Wheat Ridge Beautiful

Ridge Rangers are part of the Wheat Ridge Public Works Adopt-A-Road Program. Civic minded volunteers are being asked to adopt segments of city streets for litter control. Adopting parties agree to patrol and pick up litter from specified street segments for one year. Plus, your assigned street gets decorated with these cool signs made by our traffic technicians.

A Look Inside Richards-Hart Estate

Tucked away in historic Wheat Ridge, the Richards-Hart Estate is a great site for weddings and receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and community gatherings. The Victorian mansion is on three acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, and makes a great space for indoor or outdoor events.
