Accelerate AI Kickoff Nears Capacity
Interest is building for the Accelerate AI Kickoff on October 6, and registration is nearly at capacity. Tallahassee-Leon County business owners and decision-makers are invited to see practical AI solutions in action and learn how emerging technology can help address real operational challenges—from improving customer engagement and forecasting demand to making better use of customer data and reducing time spent on document processing.
| |
The kickoff will also provide an inside look at the four-week Accelerate AI program and explain how businesses can apply following the event. Selected businesses will receive hands-on support to define their challenge, implement and test an AI solution, and train their team—with no upfront cost to participate and no technical background required. With only a limited number of seats remaining for the kickoff, now is the time to reserve your spot!

Tallahassee MSA Sees Growth in Independent Businesses

Nonemployer businesses—primarily self-employed individuals, sole proprietors, and solo entrepreneurs—continue to represent a significant part of the Tallahassee MSA’s business landscape. In 2024, the region had 34,606 nonemployer establishments, up 15% since 2020. Professional, scientific, and technical services accounted for nearly 14% of these businesses.
Nonemployer establishments generated $1.54 billion in receipts in 2024, an 11% increase from 2023 and the strongest annual growth since 2018. Real estate and rental and leasing, professional, scientific, and technical services, and construction typically account for about half of total receipts. Since 2020, nonemployer establishments have increased by approximately 15%, while their receipts have grown 28%, reflecting continued growth in both the number and economic activity of the region’s independent businesses.
