The questions raised by educated professionals (particularly women) from Asian cultures indicated how difficult it was to overcome their upbringing to proactively ask for what they were due. Many thorny questions are answered, for example, how to manage “the ask” to obtain a raise or lay the groundwork for a promotion. A major principle is learning to take control of a process to reach the end point with an outcome you want that your supervisor supports.
