An international honor

The University of Tulsa was recognized last week as the best university in Oklahoma on the global stage. TU is ranked among the top 500 institutions in the prestigious Times Higher Education World Universities Rankings for 2023. Only 10% of the 1,799 ranked universities are in the United States.

Welcoming the world

The University of Tulsa is honored to receive the 2022 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. The HEED Award recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.

HBD, Alexandre!

TU is excited to celebrate what would have been the 125th birthday of artist Alexandre Hogue, former head of TU’s Department of Art. Students enrolled in the curatorial practice and programming course this fall are organizing two exhibitions in his honor: Hogue 125 Original showcases works by the artist; and Hogue 125 Inspired highlights themes represented in Hogue’s work.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and TU’s Collins College of Business announced an annual full-tuition, four-year scholarship for two graduating high school seniors who have completed the Thunder Fellows initiative. Founded by the Oklahoma City Thunder and CAA Sports, Thunder Fellows is a free after-school program for Black high school students.

National Geographic LIVE presents Greenwood: A Century of Resilience

A Tulsa native, TU Assistant Professor Alicia Odewale is uncovering stories of resilience in the 100 years since the attack on Black Wall Street in the city’s vibrant Greenwood district. Join Odewale to discover how archaeology can be used as a tool for recovering lost stories, reclaiming a narrative and pursuing restorative justice. Learn more.
