Scarlet bloomed!

What's Growing - July 10, 2023

Interpretive Volunteer Updates

Dear Volunteers,
What a thrilling week! We welcomed over 4,000 visitors during our Conservatory bloom event for Scarlet the Amorphophallus titanum. A tremendous thank you to volunteers Paul, Asha, Jason, Adriel, Tony, Betsy, Anne, Carol, Jean, Michele, Eric, Susan, and Mary for connecting with visitors around this event - both day and night! Visitors were excited to learn all that they could about Scarlet and reported coming from as far as Sacramento, Reno, and even Denver.
We're excited to begin recruitment for Flower Piano volunteer roles this month! If you know anyone interested in joining the Gardens of Golden Gate Park for this magical annual event, please have them complete a volunteer application now so that they can be notified when volunteer spots open up. Volunteer roles will be shared in the upcoming July Volunteer Newsletter scheduled to be sent later this week.
