Sara O’Neal, PhD, has joined the Office of Education as Associate Director of Admissions, bringing over two decades of experience in academic operations, admissions, strategy, and student support in higher education. Most recently, she served as Associate Director of Education for the Institute for Informatics, Data Science, and Biostatistics at WashU Medicine, where she led admissions and recruitment efforts, partnered closely with faculty review committees, and supported the development of new graduate programs. Sara is excited to work alongside faculty and staff to contribute to the mission-driven focus of WashU Medicine’s MD admissions process!

Recognizing Dementia Course Available in Workday |
|
|
|
Recognizing Dementia has been recently released in Workday Learning. This course is a one-hour online module developed in collaboration with WashU Medicine Continuing Medical Education (CME), the Knight ADRC, and the Instructional Design Studio to meet state of Illinois health profession licensure requirements. The module is free for all WashU faculty and staff and provides evidence-based information on dementia recognition, diagnosis, and management. A certificate of completion is available for participants scoring 80% or higher on the quiz and should be retained in case of audit by the state of Illinois. Optional AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and ANCC Contact Hours are available for $15 by registering and completing the course through WashU CME. | IL Licensing Education Requirements

Eve Colson, MD, MHPE, professor of pediatrics and associate dean for program evaluation and continuous quality improvement in the Office of Education, has been selected as a professional member of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). This prestigious national appointment recognizes Colson's contribution to medical education and accreditation at WashU Medicine and nationally. In this role, Colson will participate in accreditation reviews and site visits helping to shape LCME processes and requirements to ensure excellence in undergraduate medical education across the US.

The Office of Education held its annual winter party in February at the St. Louis Science Center. Staff, faculty and families were treated to a night of science exploration and celebration. The evening included a science demonstration and access to the center's exhibits. Teams enjoyed food and plenty of fun throughout the night. It was a great time for all!
