Antique and Classic Boat & Car Show April 16
Apalachicola will host the 18th Annual Apalachicola Antique & Classic Boat & Car Show on Saturday, April 16, 2016.  Antique boats, examples of classic and traditional vessels, workboats, and fiberglass and aluminum classics will all be on display throughout the day.  Special highlights include home-built boats by skilled craftsmen, authentic oyster boats and workboats, antique outboard engines, plus antique automobiles and artist booths.   Click here for more information.
Paddlejam May 20-22
Grab your kayak and head to the coast May 20-22 and join in what organizers hope will be another world-record attempt to gather the largest number of kayaks together in one floating mass to break the current Guiness  world record. The three-day Forgotten Coast
PaddleJam event is sponsored by the Forgotten Coast Paddle Club. The Guiness World record attempt is just one activity planned as part of the area-wide fund-raising event featuring paddle sports, music and food. SGI Brewfest April 30
If a dog is man’s—and woman’s—best friend, then a cold beer isn’t far behind. And on those special occasions where you get to have both at the same time, well, isn’t that what life is about? That’s the idea behind the 1st  Annual St. George Island Brewfest, a one-day beer tasting festival on April 30th  to build appreciation for craft brewing.  All proceeds benefit the Franklin County Humane Society. Gag Grouper Season Opens April 1st 
Gag grouper season opens April 1 in State Waters off Franklin County. April 2-3 also marks the beginning of several license-free fishing days in State waters. On these days, the fishing license requirement is waived for all recreational anglers (residents and non-residents). Click here for a list of all 2016 free fishing days. 

Fishing Tourneys
Here are a few of the upcoming fishing tournaments scheduled throughout the county.
June 11 - Fisherman's Choice Youth Fishing Tournament. Charles and Rex Pennycuff will host their 16th annual Fisherman's Choice Youth Fishing Tournament on June 11th. Kids 16 and under will fish for fresh and saltwater species. Each entry receives a t-shirt, and after the tournament, entrees are invited to attend a cookout at Fisherman's Choice in Eastpoint. Entry is free and generally about 200 kids sign up. 
June 17-19 - Annual Big Bend Saltwater Classic The Moorings of Carrabelle will host the 28th Annual Big Bend Classic on Father's Day Weekend, June 17th through the 19th, 2016   All of the proceeds from the Big Bend Saltwater Classic are used to develop artificial reefs in the Northeastern Gulf of Mexico. 

July 16 - C-Quarters Youth Fishing Tournament
- C-Quarters Marina, Carrabelle. 
Kids from all over the South are invited to attend the 12th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament. Open to all kids 16 and younger. 
August 6-7
- 13th Annual Kingfishing Tournament, C-Quarters Marina, Carrabelle. 
This weekend event gives everyone an opportunity to enjoy themselves while advocating a wonderful cause that helps so many. All proceeds go to the Leukemia Research Foundation.

Coastal Camping Getaway Winner Announced!
Brenda Smith from Chickamauga, Georgia is the winner of the Carrabelle Coastal Getaway Vacation Contest sponsored in February by the Franklin County Tourist Development Council (FCTDC). Ms. Smith was randomly selected from among entrants to win a two night vacation stay at the Carrabelle RV Park, along with meals, tickets to an event and tickets to climb the Historic Crooked River Lighthouse.

Apalachicola Artwalk April 2
Art in all forms will be woven in and around picturesque downtown Apalachicola on April 2 during the annual artwalk event where artists and musicians will be showing, selling, and demonstrating their talents from 11-6 pm. 
The festivities continue into the evening with a wine tasting at 3:00 pm.  Afterwards area chefs will prepare dishes at their restaurants pared with special wines. Click here for more information.
Carrabelle Riverfront Festival April 22-23
Carrabelle will host the 26th Annual Carrabelle Riverfront Festival on Friday and Saturday, April 22-23.  This year's event will again feature an Antique Car Show. The festival will  be held on Marine Street along the riverfront and arts and crafts, seafood, pet parade, live music, maritime exhibits, a fishy fashion show, food booths, and a childrens' zone. Plein Air Paint-out
May 6-15

More than 20 nationally acclaimed artists along with several hundred art enthusiasts will gather on Florida's Forgotten Coast soon to participate in the 11th annual Forgotten Coast en Plein Air Invitational, America's Great Paint-Out, May 6-15, 2016. The event will include several exhibit venues stretching from Carrabelle more than 100 miles west along the coast to Mexico Beach. The 10 day event features daily artist demonstrations, workshops, art sales and a series of public receptions. Art enthusiasts  can visit the exhibits and attend the many free special events that occur throughout the 10 day event. Click here for details.
Home Tour May 6-7
A reverence for the past and a vision for the future are combined in the 24th Annual “Historic Apalachicola Home & Garden Tour" May 6-7, 2016. A flurry of recent building activity in Apalachicola is reflected in the homes on this year's tour. From historic preservation and restoration to home renovation and new construction, this year's tour features outstanding examples of the building boom for your pleasure and inspiration. Historic Society Hosts Spring Ghostwalk May 7
Stay in Apalachicola after the home tour Saturday, May 7 and enjoy the  Apalachicola Historic Society's annual Spring Ghostwalk of the Historic Chestnut Street Cemetery in Apalachicola. History enthusiasts take on the personna of several of the cemetery’s more notable inhabitants to tell of life in Apalachicola more than 100 years ago. The walk will be held from 6:30-8:30 pm. (ET).
Rock By The Sea Concert May 12-15
on St. George Island
This three night charity music event on St. George Island is dedicated to raising money to assist deserving charities who provide direct services to those in need. The May event held at Harry A's on St. George Island usually sells out quickly so check their website for details. FSU To Host Evening Edge of the Sea Courses
The Florida State University Coastal & Marine Lab will host a series of courses this summer entitled “Exploring Nature: Evening at the Edge of the Sea.” The courses, scheduled to begin Saturday, May 21, are designed to educate and inspire through a hands-on experience with the area’s shores and shallows. St. George Island Lighthouse Full Moon Climb April 21
