Advocacy Training Opportunities Next Week 
There are two opportunities next week to help you learn how to bring your knowledge and voice for arts advocacy to elected reprsentatives, school leaders and board members, and local media. 
Nonprofits Advocacy Training, presented by the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, Coalition for a Strong Nebraska, and Nebraska Civic Engagement Table, provides workshops on lobbying and non-partisan voter engagement. The cost is only $10 and includes lunch. 
Learn Tech Tips for Arts Business Owners, Nonprofits and Educators at GoogleFest
GoogleFest is a free, half-day conference designed specifically for small businesses, non-profit organizations and educators.
Attendees will gain first-hand knowledge from Google experts about how to effectively use the full range of Google tools - including Google Apps, Google Drive and Gmail, plus much more - maybe even how to become a PokeStop!
Google team members will be on-hand to present, demonstrate and answer questions. GoogleFest is being hosted by Google and Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, IA, on August 10th.

Registrations are ending soon for Nebraska’s first-ever industry-wide dance conference, the Nebraska Dance Summit.
This much-needed conference will take place at Midland University, Fremont, NE on Thursday, July 28, 2016, with a post-event celebration at Gallery 92 West, also in Fremont.
The Nebraska Dance Summit is an opportunity for people interested in dance in Nebraska to gather and explore opportunities for collaboration, advocacy, promotion, and enjoy performances - including the opportunity to participate in a Flash Mob!
The Nebraska Dance Summit will highlight innovative programs from across the state and focus on organizing new collaborations and practices in the fast-growing dance sector. The wide diversity of topics and themes aims to attract dancers, choreographers, teachers, students, studio owners, producers, directors, and anyone interested in advancing dance in the state.
Guest presenters share perspectives on artistic practices, collaboration, and current activities happening in Nebraska. The featured speaker is Susan McGreevy-Nichols, Executive Director/CEO, National Dance Education Organization in Silver Springs, MD.
Registration is $30, which includes all materials, meals and reception. Registration closes at Monday, July 25.

Bonus Activity at the Nebrask Dance Summit: Jean Welstead Memorial Scholarship Show
At the Nebraska Dance Summit post-event reception, Gallery 92 West is exhibiting the works of Jean Welstead in the Hinds Gallery.
Jean Welstead was one of the Fremont Area Arts Association’s founding members.  Early this year, Marv Welstead generously donated the remaining collection of his wife’s artwork to be auctioned at Gallery 92 West. All of the proceeds from the sale will go toward an Art Scholarship in honor of Jean Welstead. Silent auction style bidding started July 8th and will continue throughout the month.
