| Histories of Survival: Womanist Theology & Embodied Resistance
(February 5, Schwartz 112)
Rooted in the vision of Alice Walker, womanist theology crafts an approach to theological studies that centers the lived experiences of women of African descent. In this lecture, Dr. Chanelle Robinson (Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at the College of the Holy Cross) explores major contributions to the field of womanist theology. This lecture will also examine how examples of embodied resistance from the Canadian context might challenge womanist theologians to engage the diasporic nature of Black Atlantic history.

Gurpreet Rattan, Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto, comes to campus to deliver the next installment of our Philosophers Speak lecture series. In his talk, entitled "An Objective Proof of a Subjective Self," Professor Rattan will explore Descartes' conception of the self and what can be said about it.

The College of Human Development, Culture, and Media (CHDCM) welcomes Jane Clementi, co-founder of the Tyler Clementi Foundation, to engage in a conversation about the importance of creating an Upstander (vs. Bystander) Culture. Learn ways to address bullying in all forms by interrupting, reporting, and supporting others.
