On INSIGHTS ON PBS HAWAI'I: OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS: AT-LARGE SEATS (Thur., Oct. 27, 7:30 pm) we talk with four candidates that are facing off against two long-time incumbents vying for three at-large seats with no district requirement on the General Election ballot this year.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS (Fri, Oct. 28, 8:00 pm) is a musical concert and cultural fiesta celebrating the Day of the Dead holiday, featuring rock greats Los Lobos, the salsa-rap-reggae-funk band Ozomatli and the all-female mariachi band Flor de Toloache.

Final Thought…

The global pandemic turned the world upside down. In the beginning, we wanted to learn as much as we could about the unknown virus. But as the weeks went by, and then the months, psychological fatigue set in. Depression hit our keiki especially hard.

HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawai‘i provided a vehicle for students to share their stories.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 pm, I humbly ask you to join us for the season premiere of HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawai‘i, as we begin a five-part series chronicling the COVID-19 global pandemic from a perspective unlike any other: straight from students’ homes. Their personal reflections are raw, intimate and in many cases, healing.
