Registration for Spring 2025 has started, but it isn't over yet! Consider topping off your schedule with a 1 or 2-unit degree elective.
Degree electives are not required for any specific program, but can help you explore interests or boost your personal enrichment. They also count toward the 128 units needed for graduation! Below are some degree electives that Dornsife has to offer:
-
FSEM 100 Freshman Seminar. First-year students engage in intellectual inquiry on a wide range of themes, from learning and reading to earthquakes and outer space. Because classes are limited to 18 seats, freshmen are guaranteed an intimate educational experience alongside peers and professors. Grades are issued on a Credit/No Credit basis and students who complete a seminar earn 2 units of credit.
-
MDA 300 Dornsife Toolkit. Students will learn skills usually only acquired through professional and life experiences. This gives learners a head start when entering the world of work! Topics explored include leadership, grant writing, personal economics, and health care careers. Those who finish a Dornsife Toolkit course earn 2 units that are graded on a Credit/No Credit scale.

-
What did you enjoy the most about your first college semester?
- Which fall semester class was your favorite and why?
- What is one thing you wish you knew before starting college?
- Is there anything you wish you had done differently this fall?
-
