Wadsworth Improvemnet Project44th Avenue construction on both sides of Wadsworth is mostly complete. A second through lane has reopened on eastbound and westbound 44th Avenue. A new dedicated right turn lane on westbound 44th Avenue to northbound Wadsworth is also open. Additional work is necessary to complete corner curb ramps, place a small section of concrete pavement and build median islands, but the most impactful part of construction at the intersection is behind us. Concrete paving continues this month on southbound Wadsworth from 44th Avenue to 41st Avenue. The concrete paver places three lanes of concrete at a time when space allows! Construction paving and cure time may impact how access is configured so drivers are asked to note signage, traffic control devices, and crew instructions when flaggers are present.
Crews are also working along southbound Wadsworth between I-70 and 48th Avenue where retaining wall and sidewalk work are underway. The new sidewalk will provide a direct connection to Johnson Park.
Subscribe to receive traffic alerts on the city's website and find updates on What's Up Wheat Ridge. Any community concerns may be directed to the project hotline at 303-390-0878 or email the project team at WadsworthProject@ci.wheatridge.co.us.

The City of Wheat Ridge is excited to announce a new inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility focused advisory committee, the IDEA Committee. Individuals who are passionate about fostering a more inclusive and equitable community and are committed to driving positive change are encouraged to apply.
The IDEA Committee is an outcome of the 2021-2023 Race and Equity Task Force, which recommended that city council create an ongoing advisory committee. The IDEA Committee will include 10 members of the public as well as a city council liaison. Four of the 10 members will represent each council district, while the remaining six members will be at-large.
Applications are now open to Wheat Ridge residents and can be found on the city's website. The IDEA Committee can expect to be appointed by city council in early 2024.
