Dear Awesome person,
In the same way that humor is often used to poke fun at tragic or depressing events, I think hand-drawn scribbles can be used to approach serious subjects with levity.
This is one of the things that makes them a fantastic storytelling tool.
In my latest blog post I write about the accessibility of doodles – how they can reframe our perspective, much like joking can; and how their lack of visual definition – their imperfections – allow us to define specificity on our own terms, projecting our own personal emotions and experiences onto them.

Read on for more goodies: new work, yet another blog post, and stuff I like & want to share. Let me know what you think! I'd love to hear from you (really).

With the freshness of the changing seasons,

What do you think?

Restorative Justice Circle

Restorative Justice Circle

I drew visual notes for a church group whose members convened to discuss racial justice. This was a deeply meaningful and emotional process for those involved. The reverend of the church said, “Her work captures the power and pain and passion of our time together.”
