Enrollment Requirements for Fall 2022

As we begin final exam week for Spring 2022, I wanted to take a moment to remind you that regular enrollment requirements will resume in Fall 2022. This means that students who are in the U.S. will need to enroll in sufficient in-person coursework to maintain their F-1 or J-1 status:

Undergraduates:

F-1 undergraduates must enroll in at least 12 credits and take at least 9 of those credits face-to-face
J-1 undergraduates must enroll in at least 12 credits of face-to-face coursework

Graduate Students:

F-1 graduate students must enroll in at least 9 credits and take at least 6 of those credits face-to-face
J-1 graduate students must enroll in at least 9 credits of face-to-face coursework

Note that hybrid courses listed as at least 50% face-to-face will count as in-person courses. If you are registered for hybrid courses and need help checking the percentage, please email us at international@miamioh.edu.

Students who will depart the U.S. or remain outside of the U.S. may enroll in online coursework to the extent that online courses are available. However, these students will not be able to maintain F-1 or J-1 status.

If you plan to depart the U.S. and take online coursework for Fall 2022, please log in to InterLink and submit the "Leave of Absence or Ending F-1 Status" e-form.

As always, if you have any questions about your situation, please email ISSS at international@miamioh.edu or schedule an appointment with an ISSS advisor. ISSS will be open all summer, 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday (summer hours begin on May 16; ISSS is open 8am - 5pm this week).
