LITERACY TIP

Narrate your day to your child. The more words and conversation your child hears, the more prepared they will be when it is time to make their own conversation. For example: when at the grocery store, tell your child what you are picking out and why. "We need more milk for our cereal." Ask your child the what, why, where, and how questions to draw out more conversation.

Book of the Month

Candice of the Edmondson Pike Branch Library has selected Isle of You by David LaRochelle as the Book of the Month! She loves Isle of You for its beautiful illustrations and its brilliant, calming message of love. She encourages everyone to share it with someone they love!

Learning Activity

Spring is almost here, and it's time to start that garden! Plant seeds (beans and flowers are most reliable) in small pots and watch them grow! Help your child water them, give them sunlight, and keep them safe. They'll be ready to transplant in April! Better yet, get free seeds from our Seed Exchange.
