Thank you to our Advisory Committee and Volunteers
Our event is able to run smoothly and efficiently thanks to the support of our volunteers, many of whom serve on our Advisory Committee. These folks sacrificing their (very) early morning to work at our registration table, food table, and just general set up and being there help to make the Downtown Bethesda event one of the best in the region.
Thank You To Our Sponsors and Event Partners
This event could never be so successful without the support and involvement of our local business community. Businesses like Silver (pictured hosting our new Bike FROM Work Event) make Bike To Work Day in Downtown Bethesda one of the best in the region year after year. Special thanks to the following sponsors and partners: AMR , Bethesda Bagels, Bethesda Green, Bus Rapid TransitCoalition for the Capital Crescent Trail, C&O Canal Bike Patrol , DrinkMore Water, Flying V, Framer McGee'sThe Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce, Griffin Cycle, Honest Tea, Mamma Lucia, Marriott International , Nando's Peri-Peri, Passion FishPotomac Pedalers, and Silver.

Bike Spirit Award Winner - Carles Mena

Carlos Mena bikes 10 miles from his home in the Hillandale part of Silver Spring to his office in Downtown Bethesda every day, which takes about an hour one way. He has been biking to work for 5 years.

Carlos says that “once you start biking to work, you can feel positive results pretty quickly, and you realize that it’s really not that hard to bike to work.” He encourages others to try biking to work not only for the health benefits, but because “it helps our earth in many ways, provides some alleviation to the traffic congestion in our area, and keeps our planet greener.”

Marriott Bike Winner -Becky Sheperdson
Along with our Griffin Cycle Bike Raffle, Marriott International raffled off a bike at Bike to Work Day. The winner was Becky Sheperdson, who stopped by on a rare sunny day to pick up her prize.
Congratulations, Becky!
Marriott International will be donating another bike to raffle off at our June 7 Bike Ride and Spin Into Silver. Click here for more information.
