Expanding Access Through Audio Description
|

Audio-Reader’s audio description program continues to grow, bringing live theater, dance, and other arts experiences to listeners who are blind or visually impaired. Through real-time description of all elements, such as costumes, movement, and stage action, audio description helps audiences connect more deeply with performances.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters like you, Audio-Reader is able to expand these services to more performances and reach more listeners who want to experience the arts in their communities. We have a full slate of performances this coming spring and summer! Check out the schedule here.

We’re also continuing to build awareness and skills across the arts community. On March 13–14, Audio-Reader will host an Arts Accessibility Forum, featuring a two-day audio description training led by Audio Description Associates, LLC. The training will equip people with the skills needed to provide audio description services. This training is open to anyone. Click on the link to register!

Audio Sales Continue to Deliver |
(Photo collage shows several photos of customers at the audio sale as well as pictures of Audio-Reader volunteers and staff at the sale. Images include vinyl records and audio equipment)
|
Audio-Reader’s most recent Audio Sale on February 13 & 14 was another great success, grossing over $16,000! Held in partnership with the Friends of the Lawrence Public Library, these benefit sales continue to be a wonderful example of community collaboration, raising vital funds for both organizations.
We are especially grateful to the many volunteers who make these events possible, including our dedicated Audio Sale team: Ed Hawkins, Douglas May, Gordon Fitch, Dave Dunford, Wake Mitchell, and Doug Keslar.
Thanks to the strong support from volunteers, donors, and shoppers, Audio-Reader’s Audio Sales over the past fiscal year have now grossed more than $40,000!

|
|
Thanks to the success of our recent Audio Sales, we’ve sold through most of our inventory. To keep these popular events going, we’re seeking donations of audio equipment, vinyl records, musical instruments, and other audio-related items. Your donations help make these sales possible and support Audio-Reader’s services.
