Do you love art?

If so, become an Art Docent for the CA State Fair & Food Festival!

Docents are art-loving volunteers who guide visitors and make art sales happen at fairs. No art degree needed, just a zest for learning! You can help judge art and deliver pieces before the fair, and then work in the building during the big event. Don’t feel ready? We will train you! You can participate in one or all of our art programs: Fine Arts, Crafts, Photography, Plein Air and Student Showcase. Join the fun!

All docents will receive credentials for entry into the fair and parking on their shift days.

Art Docent Incentives

• Volunteer for 6 or more shifts of 3 hours or more: Season monorail ride
• Volunteer for 10 or more shifts of 3 hours or more: Season Pass for your spouse
• Volunteer for 2 evening shifts (7 pm-10:15 pm): Admission Ticket for your spouse
• Volunteer for 5 evening shifts (7 pm-10:15 pm): 2 Admission Tickets & Monorail Ride
• Volunteer for 4 pre-fair shifts of 3 hours or more: Admission Ticket & Monorail Ride
