As we close out the spring semester and look ahead to the summer season, it is a great time to step back and recognize the recent accomplishments of our VINSE faculty, students, and staff. We are proud to celebrate Professor Mona Ebrish’s NSF CAREER Award, focused on advancing research in wide-bandgap materials for next-generation electronics and energy-efficient devices. We also celebrate ten students who were awarded NSF graduate research fellowships, an IEEE graduate scholarship, and a Provost Pathbreaking Award. And three cheers for the VINSE staff and Nanoguides who helped VINSE win the Vanderbilt Community Partnership Excellence Award in recognition of our ongoing commitment to collaboration and engagement in science outreach.
Please mark your calendars for two exciting programs this summer. First, on June 22nd, we will host our second annual Hands-On Quantum Computing Workshop, offering participants the opportunity to explore core quantum concepts and run algorithms on quantum hardware. Second, the VINSE NanoExchange returns this summer, offering dynamic, student-driven gatherings to spark new ideas and collaborations.
Finally, it is always exciting to add new members to the VINSE family. Please join me in welcoming a new VINSE Industry Affiliates Program member, Kimbro Oil Company - a family-owned, Nashville-based company who, like VINSE, values customer service and engagement.
Have a great start to your summer!
