» Country's Sweetest Night: Three of the greatest names in country music history and heartfelt gratitude marked Sunday's Country Music Hall of Fame Medallion Ceremony (10/26). Mac Wiseman, Ronnie Milsap and the late Hank Cochran were formally inducted, with Charlie Daniels and Vince Gill opening the musical tribute to Wiseman. "The music has been handed down from generation to generation," Wiseman said in acceptance. "The reason for its great endurance is it's such a slice of life. You're seeing things going on today that have been going on since the beginning of time. I sound a bit trite, but I firmly believe people don't change, we just get a new batch."

Acclaimed songwriter Cochran almost gave up, according to his wife Suzi. "'I guess things weren't meant to be ... at least it seems that way and I just don't care anymore,'" she said, reading from a 1961 letter Hank penned. "'I've had just about all I can take. I just want to run off someplace and hide.' Well, Hank didn't run off and hide, he stayed. And a year and a half later, in August of 1961, 'I Fall To Pieces' was No. 1 [for Patsy Cline]."

R&B legend Sam Moore of Sam & Dave recalled seeing Milsap ("Stranger In My House," "(There's) No Gettin' Over Me") for the first time in 1965. "I'd heard the song 'Never Had It So Good,' [but] thought it was Ray Charles, to show you how much I knew," Moore said. "I was coming to rehearsal [and] ran back saying, 'Dave, he's a white boy! He ain't gonna make it.'" The soulful, blind Milsap thanked his family after being hailed by Brenda Lee for transcending numerous obstacles. "As I have come to find out through life and the wisdom of age, only God knows the seeds of greatness that often come wrapped in personal challenges," she said. "How our disadvantages are often just the disguises for our true gifts."

» She Thinks My Big Green Tractor's Sexy: Can a stadium handle this much star power? We're about to find out. Kenny Chesney's The Big Revival Tour and Jason Aldean's Burn It Down Tour will combine for 10 stadium shows next summer, kicking off May 2 in San Francisco at Levi's Stadium and wrapping up Aug. 28 at Gillette Stadium near Boston. Those two dates will be the first to go on sale but details are still TBA.

"There aren't a lot of guys out there who can hit it the way Jason does, so I'm glad we're able to bring both of our tours together," says Chesney. "I know what me and the guys are bringing in terms of music, and I know Jason can hang with us!" Adds Aldean, "Kenny is the guy everybody in country music looks up to when they think about workin' hard, building your career out on the road and getting to eventually play stadiums. When we first started dipping our toe into that business a few years ago, he's the guy I would call or text for advice. We have a real friendship. Don’t get me wrong ... that doesn't mean I'm going to make it easy to follow me every night. He's gonna have to work for it harder than he ever has before!"

» Life Note: Our sympathies are with Reba McEntire, whose father Clark Vincent McEntire died last Thursday (10/23). Reba posted this photo of Mr. McEntire with her mother, Jacqueline, with the message "Daddy passed away last night in Coalgate, OK at 11pm CST. He had been in the nursing home for a while and we're very thankful he is not suffering anymore. He was a born and bred cowboy through and through. He had been sick for 5 years. It makes total sense to me, he always told us kids never to run your horse to the barn. He was just taking his time to go on home."

» Set To Pop: After days of lyric teasers, Taylor Swift's fifth studio album 1989 finally dropped at midnight Monday (10/27). Album release week has her going coast-to-coast, and she kicked things off in her newly adopted home of New York City Monday morning on Good Morning America. "Good Morning America feels more like a partnership rather than a TV show," says Swift. "They're always so supportive, so wonderful, so they’re always my first choice as to where to debut new music or where to announce news." Swift's other stops include The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Voice, Late Show With David Letterman, CBS This Morning,The View and The Talk.

With the release of the album also comes Swift's encoded liner note messages, just as she's done in her last four albums. Previous hidden notes include Swift's life philosophies, personal emotions and clues as to who the songs are about. See how some of her fans have decoded the 1989 messages here.

» Puppy Love: Miranda Lambert raised more than $600,000 at the 7th Annual Cause For The Paws event benefiting her MuttNation Foundation. This year, Lambert donated the proceeds from her Oct. 4 show at the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest Festival to finish and fund the Tishomingo, OK Redemption Ranch, the first MuttNation Foundation-owned shelter. "I always have a great time in Vegas, but being able to save dogs along the way was probably the best," said Lambert. "Getting to do what I love and help the cause that's closest to my heart, and do it in Vegas – it doesn't get any better. With the money raised, I am looking forward to seeing lots of dogs find loving forever homes through adoption."
