One Month to the Activating Equity Award Deadline
|
Unlike many existing NSDA awards, which focus on the achievements of a single individual, the Activating Equity Award will be bestowed upon a group of adults and/or students for their collective actions over the years. If you know of a group, organization, or leadership team that is dedicated to enhancing a culture of equity in speech and debate, nominate them today!

Pitching and Structuring a Speech and Debate Class
|
Offering a speech and debate class can give your program stability, increase participation, and offer greater work/life balance. Our latest self-paced NSDA Learn course will help you prepare to advocate for a class. When you enroll online for free, you'll learn to:
- Showcase student and family interest.
-
Demonstrate how a class helps your school achieve its goals.
- Determine the positioning and structure of your course.
- Make a pitch incorporating data and student voices.
- Plan for the year ahead if your request is granted.
-
Prepare to adjust your pitch if your request is tabled.

Belonging and Inclusion Stations at District Tournaments
|
The NSDA does not tolerate harassment or discrimination and we take violations of this nature very seriously. To that end, we are encouraging district tournaments to offer a Belonging and Inclusion Station (BIS) for attendees. If you or someone from your team experiences harassment, discrimination, or bullying at a tournament, we encourage you to report it to the BIS or, if a tournament does not have a BIS, the tab room. Find more information about the BIS »

Use the page or save it to refer back to for online or in-person judges throughout the season. Select the plus button next to each judge to read their full details.
