Respectful Care
The Respectful Care Breakfasts held this month at St. Thomas Midtown and Fort Sanders Medical Center brought together a diverse group of attendees, including educators, frontline staff, and providers, all united in listening to a patient's personal care story. Participants were highly engaged listening to experiences from patients that had a profound impact on them. Many reflected on how the small acts of compassion and respect they provide every day can make a significant difference in a patient's experience, while also identifying opportunities to make their care practices even more patient-centered. The event left attendees energized, inspired, and eager to continue these meaningful conversations, expressing interests in scheduling future Respectful Care Panel Discussions.

Spinning Babies
In July, TIPQC was delighted to offer 5 Spinning Babies courses to TN hospitals, doulas, and birth workers across the state. Between the five different courses, 165 nurses, doulas, physicians, and midwives, representing 34 different hospitals, learned the different balancing techniques, positioning, and physiology of birth.
“We are so grateful for TIPQC for putting on this incredible event! This has been an amazing training, and we are so excited to go out and use these new tools to serve our community in deeper ways. Thank you for sponsoring this!” Attendee

Bradley Medical Center Hospital Spotlight
The TIPQC Cardiac Conditions in Obstetric Care (CCOC) project was implemented to strengthen the recognition, response, and management of cardiac conditions affecting pregnant and postpartum patients at Bradley Medical Center in Cleveland, TN. Hospital-wide education was completed to increase staff awareness of maternal cardiac warning signs, promote timely escalation of care, and reinforce evidence-based practices. Our local obstetric offices, Women’s Health Professionals and Life Circle also incorporated a standardized cardiac screening process, with screening results flowing into the patient's prenatal record. This supports continuity of care and makes important risk information available to the hospital care team in Women's Services for escalation and cardiac care referrals. The emergency department also screens patients who are currently pregnant or who have been pregnant within the past 12 months.
The project was guided by a dedicated leadership team including: Tammy Seay (CNO), Dr. Kent Childs, Jamie Tant (Women's Services Director), Jimmie Lane (Clinical Manager), Megan Lynch (Clinical Supervisor), Lisa Lovelace (CEO), and Jeanette Fetter (Chief Quality Officer).
