First pitch to honor Allan Saxe
|
The UTA softball team will honor the late Allan Saxe, a longtime UTA professor and Arlington philanthropist, before its conference series against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, April 19. There will be a pre-game ceremony and first pitch by Ruthie Brock, Dr. Saxe’s wife, at 11:45 a.m. at Allan Saxe Field. The game will begin at 12:05 p.m., with gates opening at 11 a.m. The first 150 fans to arrive will receive free candy-filled Easter eggs.

| Student research symposium
|
College of Science students will present research projects at Discover 2025 on Friday, April 18. An in-person poster symposium will be held 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Chemistry & Physics Building. Then, the top five undergraduate and top five graduate students will present their projects in the UTA Planetarium at 1 p.m. for the finalist showcase. An awards ceremony will follow.

Faculty and staff of metro area colleges and universities and UTA alumni are invited to UTA’s 50th annual Metro Golf Tournament Monday, May 12, at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth. It will be a Florida Scramble format with four person teams. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Individual registration is $100 and four-person team registration is $400. Register by Monday, May 5.

This spring, enhanced versions of MavPlanner, MavScheduler, and MavInspire will be available at UTA. The enhanced systems will see updated user interfaces and functionality. Leveraging improved technology will put actionable data for engagement and early alerts in the hands of faculty and staff. The tools will also allow staff to effectively assist students with planning a clear path to graduation.
