Academic All-stars
The University of Tulsa will welcome 151 National Merit scholars to campus as new students this fall. That’s more than any other university in the country per capita and a record high for TU. From internationally ranked STEM programs, meaningful research, a curriculum rooted in the arts and humanities, and a 9:1 student to faculty ratio, the university offers a unique educational experience for high-achieving students. Nearly 80% of the National Merit scholars coming to TU are from outside Oklahoma.

Online Opportunity
The University of Tulsa's new online RN-to-BSN program creates more pathways for prospective students to meet the growing demand for nurses. The first class begins Aug. 21 for registered nurses who want to earn their bachelor of science in nursing and transfer their experience into leadership. The program features TU’s top-ranked curriculum in accelerated, eight-week courses. Students can choose to spread out their coursework to accommodate their schedules or can progress quickly to complete the degree as few as 12 months.

Where It Happened
After spending a semester in the classroom studying Alexander Hamilton’s impact on revolutionary activity in the Black Atlantic World, University of Tulsa students traveled to St. Croix to get a first-hand look at the island town where the architect of America’s financial system spent his formative years. “It is one thing to read and talk about things that happened over 200 years ago, and another thing altogether to walk down the same streets as historical figures, and witness with your own eyes the circumstances they experienced,” said senior Abby Lowen.

Although we know it as Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium today, when TU’s stadium first opened on Oct. 4, 1930, it was just called Skelly Field.
