Provost Drew Kerkhoff and Tanya Erzen, professor of Religion, Spirituality, & Society and director of the Freedom Education Project Puget Sound (FEPPS), participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). The panel, “Expanding Prison Education Opportunities to Your Campus: Lessons from the Field,” was held at CIC’s 2024 Institute for Chief Academic Officers and included colleagues from the Tennessee Higher Education Initiative, Ascendium Education Group, and the National Association Student Financial Aid Administrators.

Camoflaj, the video game studio founded by Ryan Payton ’03, won Best VR/AR Game at the 2024 Game Awards for their virtual reality game Batman: Arkham Shadow. The studio, which Payton started in 2011, is known for its République series, as well as Marvel's Iron Man VR.

The Logger Men's and Women's Basketball teams went head-to-head against cross-town rivals Pacific Lutheran University last week. The women emerged victorious with a final score of 60–46, notching their ninth consecutive win against PLU. The men lost by just two points in a nail-biter finish led by Taj Phillips ’25, who recently surpassed 1,000 career points.

The event featured opening remarks by President Isiaah Crawford and Port of Tacoma Commissioner Kristin Ang ’00. Moderated by Austin Jenkins, award-winning journalist, host of Inside Olympia on TVW, and staff writer at Pluribus News, the discussion covered a wide range of hot-button topics, from how to balance the state's operating budget to policies addressing housing and homelessness.
