From the Dean: Vanderbilt Business Students Racking Up the Competition Wins
We're not cut-throat, but who says we're not competitive? This spring Owen student teams scored some big wins in a string of national case competitions: 1st place in the Wharton People Analytics Competition, 1st place in the Purdue Global Supply Chain Competition, 1st place in the South by Southwest Texas Pitch, 1st place in the Iowa MBA Business Analyics Competition and 3rd place in the Denver Race and Case Competition.

MAcc Students Reflect on Their Internships at the Big Four

Every spring students in the Vanderbilt MAcc program intern at the accounting firms known as the “Big Four.” Students hone their craft at an industry leader during accounting’s busiest season, leveraging a paid, hands-on experience to build the technical and soft skills they’ll need to succeed in the profession. As graduation approaches, a few students described their internship experiences and the impact on their professional development. Read more.

New Student Leaders Meet with Owen Alumni Board
March 2017 marked the second annual Owen Student Organizations and Club Leadership Transition Workshop. This event provided outgoing student leaders a chance to transition roles to their successors and allowed for incoming leaders to learn more about their new positions. The energy was palpable in the lobby, where 31 Owen Alumni board members talked with 55 students about leadership and successful transitions. Thank you to our Alumni Board for participating and sharing their experiences.

Taught by Cherrie Clark
In this program, you will learn who Millennials are and how to lead them to further organizational goals. You will hear from Millennials in live panels and through research. You will study best practices of companies who have successfully leveraged this powerful generation. You will receive feedback about your own workplace and Millennials who work there. May 8-9: Digital Marketing: How to Stand Out from the Competition
Taught by Corey M. Cleek and Erick B. Goss
Improve your digital marketing efforts through this unique two-day program. Through a mix of lecture, discussion and hands-on exercises, you will leave this course confidently knowing how to achieve your digital marketing goals, and will have reviewed a Google Analytics account, as well as analyzed marketing campaigns with Google AdWords, Facebook, and display ads.
