| Making Meaningful Connections
| |
| Making Meaningful Connections is the primary purpose of our OD Network! One of the greatest benefits of membership is the ability to connect with other OD scholars and practitioners, to share, learn, develop and expand the impact of our profession. With our Strategic Plan for 2017-2020, the OD Network is focusing on ways members can connect, grow and collectively increase our impact – all while strengthening our relationships and operations. All of the outcomes within the Strategic Plan are bound within two axes: Member Experience and the Global OD Practice Framework™.

| How OD Network Members Connect
| |
|
by Lori Blander
The OD Network is committed to making sure our members have a well-rounded experience that fosters growth, networking, contribution to the field, and building relationships. At the OD Network, we have made our all-around member experience a priority and have made significant strides to being the premier organization for all who work in our field.

Explore the Breadth of OD at our Annual Conference, October 14-17
| |
|
by Dr. Steven Goodwin
Organization Development is a field with amazingly vast applications. In fact, the art and science of OD can be applied in any human endeavor. Put two or more people together for any length of time and, voila, a culture will form. In that culture, the OD practitioner has room to work.
With such a wide open playing field, it is glaringly obvious that none of us have the full breadth of experience across all the possible applications. Internals have built up years, even decades, of practice inside a unique culture, but may have little experience practicing their craft in nonprofits or community groups. External consultants have the opposite experience, working in many settings, but never practicing inside a large stable culture. Academics, students, part-time practitioners equally can say that they have not worked in every possible expression of the magic that is OD.

| OD Practitioner: The Difference We Make
| |
| Take some time to review the new issue of OD Practitioner, published April 5th. This edition focuses on demonstrating the impact of OD. Don’t miss the great articles, including those from W.Warner Burke on “Those Other Organizations*” and Judy Vogel on “Evaluating OD Evaluations: A Skeptics View.” OD Practitioner also includes Practicing OD, a collection of short articles on useful ideas, lessons learned, and practical suggestions for managing the day to day challenges of doing OD. Consider writing for OD Practitioner and Practicing OD. Each journal includes guidelines for submissions. Many thanks to our authors, Editor-in-Chief, John Vogelsang, and volunteer members of the editorial board for consistently producing an outstanding journal.
