» Garth Goes Digital: Not only did  Garth Brooks  release his new single "People Loving People" Wednesday (9/3), at  Thursday's (9/4) press conference in Chicago before his world tour kickoff, he unveiled  GhostTunes , a new digital music store he founded. For $29.99 for a limited time,  fans can buy Brooks' complete existing catalog of music and videos; pre-order his 2014 album and newly announced 2015 album, once available, with the purchase of his new single "People Loving People" and a bonus track "Send 'Em On Down The Road." More info  here .

"I wanted a place that just sold entertainment, that took care of the customer," said Brooks. GhostTunes is not a Brooks-only store; it's a mult-genre platform. "[Artists] can come to this site and sell [their music] however they want," he said. "The decision is up to who owns the copyright, which is how it should have always been."

As for tonight's show at Chicago's Allstate Arena? "The crowd is very sweet here," he said. "Hopefully they'll be very forgiving because tonight's show is gonna suck. You want this to be the worst show of the tour. You want them to get better every night."

Brooks opener, wife Trisha Yearwood , admitted she has a case of opening night nerves. "I've got butterflies!" she tweeted .

In even more Garth news, he's added three Jacksonville, FL dates to his world tour: Oct. 10, 11 and 12. All three shows at the Veterans Memorial Arena start at 7:30pm. Tickets go on sale Sept. 12 at 10am ET with an eight-ticket limit per purchase. Get yours  here  or by calling 1-800-745-300.

» Nom Squad: Nominees for the 48th Annual CMA Awards were announced Wednesday (9/3) and Miranda Lambert tops the list with nine. She's up for Entertainer, Female Vocalist, Album, two for Video (one with Carrie Underwood ), two for Muscial Event (with Underwood and Keith Urban , respectively), Single and Song. Lambert ties her own record for the most nominations of any female artist in CMA history, which she set in 2010. She's followed by Dierks Bentley with five; Urban and Eric Church with four each; and Kacey Musgraves , Blake Shelton , Luke Bryan and Underwood receiving three nominations. George Strait received his 83rd nomination and 19th for Entertainer. The winners will be crowned live when the CMA Awards  air Nov. 5 on ABC-TV . See the full list of nominees here .

» Guitar Man: He wakes up with a few espressos and has been known to chug five Mountain Dews a day. Hunter Hayes is addicted to caffeine. But what really gives him the shakes is being without a guitar. In an exclusive interview, Hayes tells us what happened when he recently tried to quit his strongest addiction cold turkey. "I once spent a couple of days somewhere without a guitar," he said. "I thought, 'Oh it'll be a short trip' and didn't take one with me. And I felt uncomfortable the entire time, like I could not relax. It was so weird because I couldn't figure it out. I was like, 'What is with me?' But now I have a little Martin that travels with me everywhere. Even if I don't play it, just knowing it's there makes me feel better."

» Roadhouse Rum: Nothing says "summer" like a Kenny Chesney song on the radio and a cold cocktail in your hand. And even though the fall season is near, Chesney has found a way to make the good times last. He and his company Blue Chair Bay Rum have partnered with Logan's Roadhouse for the Everlasting Summer promotion, currently running through mid-November. Until then, you can get a signature Blue Chair Bay rum-glazed salmon or steak entree and a cocktail made with the rum, including the new Blackberry Mojito.

"Blue Chair Bay Rum was created to share with good friends, family and great food," says Chesney. "We're excited to team up with Logan's as a way to extend everyone's summer throughout 2014. Just because Labor Day's happened, there's no reason for the summer to end."

» Cole Front: It's only September but it's pretty safe to say 2014 will go down as one of Cole Swindell 's best years yet. He had the highest-selling debut country album since 2011; opened for Luke Bryan ; and was a writer on hits including Florida Georgia Line 's "This Is How We Roll," Thomas Rhett's "Get Me Some Of That" and Bryan's "Roller Coaster." He'll cap it off by launching the Down Home Tour Nov. 17 in Davie, FL with opening act Kelleigh Bannen .

"It has been a crazy whirlwind year and I feel so fortunate that country music fans and country radio has embraced me in such a huge way," says Swindell. "It's what an artist dreams about. I've been lucky enough to get a jump start performing alongside Luke Bryan in front of massive crowds, and while I wouldn't change anything for the experience I've gained so far, I know I still have a lot of work to do on the road. I'm really excited to get to it on my Down Home Tour this winter where I'll have a new experience with my fans at shows."
