Please take a moment to confirm that your in-person orientation registration form is complete and up-to-date. Note that additional questions have been recently added. All students should complete the current form by August 1.

Also by August 1, you are encouraged to register for the ISSS airport hotel-to-campus transportation option. ISSS staff and International Peer Orientation Leaders (iPOLs) will guide you through the arrival and move-in process.

Those who are interested in a reduced-rate hotel room for the night of August 11 at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton Cincinnati Airport (the location of the above-mentioned airport pickup) can now reserve a reduced-rate room.

| | Complete Academic Advising and Course Registration
| |

Remote meetings with academic advisors to register for courses are taking place now until August 6. Please be sure to complete the Canvas orientation modules about Academics and follow the instructions for scheduling an academic advising appointment as soon as possible.
ACE students can expect to receive an email about course selection.

Complete Canvas Modules and Connect with iPOLs and Peers
| |
|
You should complete all released International Student Online Orienation modules in Canvas before arriving to campus as they contain information that you will need to know for maintaining status as an international student and being part of the Miami community. If you are interested in connecting with iPOLs or other international students, be sure to check out the Canvas Discussion.

| | Submit Your Photo for ID and Check Housing

All students should submit a photo for their Miami ID Card, which they will receive during the arrival/check in process. Your Miami ID Card will provide access to your Residence Hall (if you are living on campus) and many other campus services (Dining, Libraries, Armstrong Student Center, and more).

Students should also soon be receiving residence hall room assignments from Campus Services. If you live on campus and registred for orientation, you will receive an email notifying your pre-semester housing arrangement as well. Those students who will need to quarantine upon arrival will received detailed information about these accommodations.

A group of new domestic students from the U.S. will be coming to campus early to connect with new international student from August 17-19 for activities designed to build intercultural friendships and explore all that Miami has to offer. Please note that space in this program is limited and participation may be affected by arrivial procedures according to vaccination status. Miami's Personal Support Resources
Beyond the academic support resources that were shared in the previous newsletter and the International Student Center on the lower lever of MacMillan Hall, Miami has multiple offices and resources that assist students beyond the classroom.

Health and Wellness
Managing stress and anxiety; getting enough rest; staying physically and socially active; and reaching out for help will help you succeed at Miami. As you consider how you’ll manage your health and wellness, you may want to visit the Student Counseling Service (SCS), Student Health Service (SHS), and Student Wellness websites.
Student Success Center (SSC)
The Student Success Center (SSC) focuses on increasing student persistence to graduation, provides assistance with navigating university policies and procedures, connects you to on- and off-campus resources, and helps to resolve issues (personal, medical, academic, familial, or other) affecting your academic or social success.
Center for Career Exploration and Success (CCES)
The Center for Career Exploration & Success offers guidance on major exploration, career exploration, internship/job searching, and interviewing techniques through a customized approach to mapping work preferences and passions that enables students to choose meaningful career paths and excel in a diverse, global society.
Harry T. Wilks Leadership Institute
The Wilks Leadership Institute is the hub for leadership development and cultivates ethical and transformational leadership in Miami students to ensure graduates are prepared and inspired to serve and lead beyond the university.
Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion (CSDI)
The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion creates an inclusive, welcoming, and affirming environment by providing direct services, support, and resources to students and is committed to diversity/multiculturalism as expressed through ability, age, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic differences.
Miller Center for Student Disability Services (SDS)
The Miller Center coordinates accommodations, auxiliary aids, support services and resources for a diverse group of students including those with physical, vision, hearing, psychiatric, medical, neurological, autism spectrum, ADHD, learning disabilities and cognitive disabilities.
