All About Service Points

Students and coaches can earn recognition for service through our Honor Society! Students can earn merit points through service as well as competition. Coaches are recognized for service with the Don Crabtree Distinguished Service Awards. This award is earned by coaches who perform service for the NSDA, such as hosting tournaments, serving on District Committees, volunteering at the National Tournament, or doing a variety of other eligible activities. Adopt a Harassment and Discrimination Policy

To make tournaments a safe and inclusive environment for all, we encourage tournament hosts to adopt the NSDA approved Harassment and Discrimination Policy or post a similar policy approved by your school district. View the policy »

Apply to Attend the 2019 Inclusion Workshop

The 2019 NSDA Inclusion Workshop for coaches and educators is now open for applications! The workshop will take place August 7-8 in Colorado Springs, following the National Conference. The workshop is free for attendees and limited financial support for housing is available.

Attendees will learn strategies for effective engagement in dialogue about racial diversity, inclusion, and achievement gaps in education. At the recommendation of our facilitators, space at the workshop is limited and the makeup of our attendees will reflect the demographics of our student membership. Streamline Student Point Entry with the Autoposting Feature

The most efficient way to enter student points is with the autoposting feature. Points for tournaments hosted on Tabroom.com, Joy of Tournaments, or SpeechWire are available for autoposting within two weeks of the tournament date. Advisors and coaches with permissions can log in and confirm pending autoposted points rather than calculating them and entering them manually.
