The impact of Clemson’s Reserve Officers Training Corps program was on full display as Air Force Col. Keith Balts, commander of Clemson’s Air Force ROTC, capped a 28-year career of service during a pandemic-safe retirement ceremony September 18.

Hallo Appointed Interim Chair
Jeffrey Hallo, Ph.D., has been appointed interim chair for the Clemson parks, recreation and tourism management department. Hallo will assume the role previously held by Wayne Freimund, who is leaving the position at the end of March.

From Blue to Gold
Mrs. Broadus Connell must have felt both pride and anxiety. Four of her five sons were serving in the armed forces. That gave her the right to display Blue Stars in the window of her home in Camden. With the death of her son Ivey, one of the family’s Blue Stars was replaced with a Gold one.
