Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for early check-in and a time of mingling

Golden Tickets are for sale for $100. There are only 50 Golden Tickets, so buy as many as you want to increase your odds at winning $1,000.

Tolo dance this Friday!

I just googled Tolo Dance to see what it actually means. Like, I know it means the girl asks the guy instead of vice versa, but does it stand for something?

Apparently, Tolo is a regional term and it is called a Sadie Hawkins Dance elsewhere. Sadie Hawkins got its name from a character in a Li'l Abner comic strip in 1939.

Tolo however was a term coined several decades before that at the University of Washington, which created an all-women's honor society called the "Tolo Club", from the Chinook word for success and achievement. To raise funds, the group held a dance where women asked men.

The SCA Tolo Dance will be held from 6-8 p.m. this Friday in the SCA gym. Tickets are available for high school students at the front office and cost $25. Food will be served and students are encouraged to dress in their favorite 1990s themed attire.

Now through March 31, all families re-enrolling their students enjoy priority placement for the 2023-24 school year.

On April 1 - no joke - new families will start taking up any open spots. Demand and inquries from new families is through the roof and we want to make sure that you and your student have their spot reserved today.

MVP! MVP! MVP!

It wasn't just our boys basketball team that brought home some awards this season. Lions girls basketball senior Savannah McDaniel was named the Most Valuable Player for the Class 1B SeaTac League!

McDaniel was a force all season long for the Lions, who advanced to the conference tournament but fell short of a state berth.

Junior Emara Henderson was also honored, as she was named to the all-league second team.

Congratulations, Savannah and Emara!

Join us for our next Special Speaker Series!

As part of our ongoing Special Speaker Series, we are hosting Care Net of Puget Sound on Tuesday, March 21 and you are invited.

Care Net of Puget Sound will use content from their Smart Programs Curriculum to facilitate the conversation about Relationship Do's and Don'ts.

There will be sessions for Middle School and High School during chapel that day, while there will be a session for parents from 6-7 p.m. in the Worship Center.

After school pick up reminder

I bet you are confused by the picture that goes with this reminder, but then again, what photo really goes with an after school pick up reminder?

At any rate, students must be picked up within 30 minutes of their final scheduled activity on campus.

Please do not leave your child unattended on campus past the 30-minute mark.

Secondary families, please read

A little test for the readers at home in the image above. Actually, not much of a test, but we do try to amuse ourselves here at the SCA E-Newsletter Design Desk.

There is a grade check Tuesday for secondary students (grades 6-12) and all students need to turn in their work beforehand so they can be entered into the gradebooks.

Grade checks are done every three weeks throughout the semester for all secondary students. In order to pass grade check, students must have no failing grades and less than three D's.

Circle this date

Our annual Grandparents Assembly will be from 9-10am on Tuesday, March 28 and you won't want to miss it.

There will be photo booths and snacks provided afterward. Flyers will be going home with elementary students soon to hand out to the patriarchs and matriarchs of your families.
