Air Pollution from Hazardous Waste Combustors
The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to amend the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from Hazardous Waste Combustors. The proposed rule would remove the exemptions and revise other provisions associated with emission standard exemptions for periods of malfunction, add electronic reporting provisions, and amend emergency safety vent provisions. Comments due September 9.
Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Water Heaters
The Department of Energy published a notification of data availability (NODA) on its July 2023 proposal amending energy conservation standards for consumer water heaters. The NODA updates portions of the analysis for gas-fired instantaneous water heaters. Comments due August 22.
Cybersecurity Labeling for Internet of Things Program
The Federal Communications Commission is seeking comment on several items related to Cybersecurity Label Administrator to further the efficient and timely rollout of the Internet of Things (IoT) Labeling program. The program provides a voluntary cybersecurity labeling option for consumer wireless IoT products. Comments due August 19.
Medicare Hospital Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgical Center Payment Systems
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a proposed rule addressing numerous changes to the healthcare system. Some of the provisions included in the proposed rule would revise amounts and factors used to determine payment rates for the Medicare hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System and the Medicare Ambulatory Surgical Center payment system for 2025; would update and refine requirements for quality reporting programs; and would provide 12 months of continuous eligibility for children under age 19 to Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Comments due September 9.
