Downtown Boulder Mobility Hubs Project |
The City of Boulder is exploring how five downtown parking garages can evolve into mobility hubs - places where people can easily connect between different ways of getting around, whether they arrive by car, bus, bike, scooter, rideshare, or on foot. The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) grant-funded project will develop concept plans for transforming existing garages into welcoming, flexible transportation centers that improve access to downtown while supporting Boulder’s sustainability, mobility and economic vitality goals.
The City of Boulder invites everyone who lives, works or visits downtown to help shape the future of downtown mobility. You can provide input on your current travel patterns and input on future mobility hubs by:
|
-
Completing the online questionnaire by July 20.
-
Discussing the project with a member of the project team, who will be located at garages during select times over the next several months.

Folsom Street and Pearl Street Repaving |
The City of Boulder will repave Pearl Street (from Folsom Street to 30th Street) beginning early July 2026 and Folsom Street (from Pine Street to Arapahoe Avenue) beginning mid-July 2026 to address deteriorated pavement quality. Repaving now avoids more costly maintenance in the future. Construction for each street will take approximately 2 weeks to complete.
As part of this routine maintenance work, the City of Boulder’s Pavement Management Program Mobility Enhancements Initiative is installing near-term safety enhancements. Coordinating these efforts is a cost-effective and efficient way to deliver immediate smaller-scale safety upgrades during routine maintenance efforts.

East Bookend Development Project Updates and Interest Form |
The Civic Area East Bookend is envisioned as a vibrant food and culture hub that connects the Civic Area, Pearl Street and CU's campus. As part of that vision, the City of Boulder recently formalized a partnership with Boulder County Farmers Markets to establish a permanent, year-round farmers market presence in the area, building on the market's 40-year history of supporting local food, small businesses and community gathering.
The city plans to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) later this year and will ask development teams to prioritize arts, culture and local businesses as key anchors for the site.
If you're a local business or arts and culture organization interested in connecting with potential development teams, or would like updates on the project, please complete the interest form.
