HELLO, World.

Meet OREGON.

What You Need to Know

Over the next couple of weeks significant event preparations will take place on the Univeristy of Oregon campus. In addition to traffic and parking changes, new exhibits are coming to UO museums and the Erb Memorial Union (EMU).
Public Building Access
  • Some public buildings, such as the museums and EMU dining venues, will remain open. Others may have changes to hours or access. Check with individual programs or departments about access to buildings before heading to campus this summer.
  • The Student Recreation Center will be closed to the public from July 12-24. Old Town/Esslinger will remain open with alternative access and Group Fitness will continue operating on the summer schedule. While the SRC is closed, the UO will provide access to an alternative facility for all summer fee-bearing students and summer term SRC members at no additional cost to members. Additional information about the alternative facility will be shared with summer term members by email.
Parking Update
  • Vehicle Access Passes: Transportation Services is finalizing the Vehicle Access Pass (VAP) distribution process with Oregon22. VAPs for reserved space holders, including departmental reserved spaces, will be distributed the week of June 20.
  • 13th Avenue Garage Access: The 13th Avenue garage will accommodate parking for UO permit holders and visitors until July 13. To access the 13th Avenue garage between July 1-13, a VAP is not required, though road closure signs will be posted along adjacent streets. Vehicles traveling to the garage must enter the area via the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and East 13th Avenue and turn left into the parking garage. To exit the garage, vehicles must turn right on East 13th Avenue upon garage exit and leave the area via Franklin Boulevard heading eastbound.
  • Parking Alternatives: Due to significant peak traffic and parking impacts during WCH Oregon22, individuals are encouraged to use alternative transportation. The Transportation Services website provides more information about alternative options such as bike parking, PeaceHealth Rides, and free LTD passes.
  • Valley River Center Shuttle: UO employees and students can utilize the free WCH Oregon22 fan shuttle that will operate from Valley River Center. The shuttle starts approximately 90 minutes prior to each published competition session at Hayward Field. Check WCH Oregon22 event timetables for daily session times. Additional information, including where to access the shuttle, is available on the WCH Oregon22 Know Before You Go webpage
July Work Schedules: Supervisors and employees are encouraged to work together regarding scheduling and remote work assignments during WCH Oregon22.
