FEATURED FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES |
Through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), the NCI intends to support basic and translational research that will guide the development of a prophylactic or therapeutic KSHV vaccine. Deadline: December 23, 2023

In 2024, the ALSF Crazy 8 Initiative will target childhood cancer predisposition and prevention. This is an opportunity for an investigator to form a team of experts to leverage this award of $3–5 million over 4 years to improve the well-being of children with cancer and their families.
Deadline for Letter of Intent: January 4, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. ET

Through this NOFO, the NCI invites applications for investigator-initiated studies addressing mechanisms by which incretin mimetics, specifically glucagon-like peptide (GLP)-1 or dual GLP-1/glucose dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP)-1 receptor agonists, impact cancer risk. The agents are important because of not only their reported effects on thyroid, prostate, and other cancer risks, but also the generally more favorable efficacy and side effect profile, compared to other classes of incretin mimetics.
Deadline: January 5, 2024

November is Native American Heritage Month |
Moores is proud to celebrate its unique culture by recognizing November as Native American Heritage Month, in alignment with a draft statement by the UCSD Intertribal Resource Center:
The UC San Diego community holds great respect for the land and the original people of the area where our campus is located. The university is built on the un-ceded territory of the Kumeyaay Nation. Today, the Kumeyaay people continue to maintain their political sovereignty and cultural traditions as vital members of the San Diego community. We acknowledge their tremendous contributions to our region and thank them for their stewardship.
The Intertribal Resource Center is working with Kumeyaay community members and the campus community to create an official statement for UC San Diego. Please visit https://itrc.ucsd.edu/ for more information and resources to help Moores celebrate you.
Moores Members are encouraged to contact EDI to recognize Native staff, researchers, faculty, or trainees (students) who have contributed to the community. Please share your nominees' names, emails, and two to three sentences about their contributions to Moores patient care and/or research at mcc_edi@health.ucsd.edu.
