What You Need to Know

  • The Oregon Health Authority is managing the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccinations throughout the state. The University of Oregon is working with state and local public health officials and has offered both technical and logistical support as they develop vaccine distribution plans. It is not yet known when the vaccine will be available to students and staff. 
  • COVID-19 testing reservations are available for all UO employees, students, and Lane County residents age 3 and older. Testing slots for asymptomatic individuals are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The next testing days are December 28 and 29.

Is it safe to travel?
Students traveling home for winter break are urged to follow state and CDC guidelines for travel within the United States [en Español]. 

The governors of Oregon, Washington, and California issued a travel advisory urging against non-essential, out-of-state travel. It asks people to self-quarantine for 14 days after arriving from another state or country, and encourages residents to stay local.

COVID-19 Cases

  • There were 9 members of the UO community who tested positive or were considered presumptive positive in the last seven days (December 14-20) as of 10:00 a.m. today. A total of 684 members of the UO community have tested positive for COVID-19 since reporting began. Information about known cases within the UO community is updated by 10:00 a.m. weekdays.

  • The Oregon Health Authority reports 103,755 confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases in the state, 6,247 cases in Lane County, 23,344 in Multnomah County, and 658 in Coos County as of December 21.

Reminders

  • The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outline some general precautions to minimize the spread of respiratory diseases.
