Serve Your City Short: Portland Downtown Litter Clean-Up When: Saturday, Oct. 8th from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Where: PSU's Montgomery Plaza, on SW Montgomery St. between SW 6th and SW 5th Ave by the KMC School of Business. Look for the folks with clipboards by the tents for check-in and orientation!
What: Looking to meet others, get outside, and learn more about the city through volunteering? Join PSU’s Student Community Engagement Center and Student Sustainability Center for a litter clean-up in the areas neighboring our campus. PSU students and community welcome and no experience is necessary. Help keep our public spaces clean, enjoy some time outside, and do something to support the city that PSU calls home. Many hands make light work! Volunteers will check-in, get oriented in small teams, grab gear, and then spread out in small pods into the nearby streets. After picking up litter in our designated areas while connecting to downtown’s many offerings, we will reconvene on campus for a post-project wrap-up, conversation, and snacks.
Accessibility Information:
- The check-in area is in a place that is wheelchair accessible. Most of the cleanup work will take place on city sidewalks that are wheelchair accessible. Please reach out if you have any questions or a need for accommodations.
- If you have additional accessibility needs, please reach out and email us at volunteer@pdx.edu. We are happy to work with you to make sure you enjoy this event!
