â˘Â NYU Shanghaiâs student athletes gave it their all in the second leg of the
2025-2026 Sino-Foreign University Cup, held at University of Nottingham Ningbo China on March 14-15, with the Table Tennis, Menâs Soccer, Womenâs Volleyball, and Tennis teams performing particularly well. So far, DKU and UNNC are tied with 40 points each, with NYU Shanghai coming in 3rd. The Violets will have their chance at redemption next month on April 18-19 in the third and final SFUC leg, hosted at NYU Shanghai.

spoke on history as a discipline in 20th century China and the study of modern China. The talk was introduced by

Professor Fan argued that the professionalization of historical scholarship has produced unintended consequences: broadening Chinese historical consciousness by embedding the nation within global narratives and comparative frameworks, while narrowing historical interpretation through institutional, ideological, and nationalist constraints.

discussion with Assistant Professor of Global China Studies
Zhang Liangliang on how we research China in China, he explained Palgraveâs work in publishing research by NYU Shanghai and other China-based scholars, and the changing profile of Chinese research internationally, as showcased by Springer Natureâs âNature Index.â
