I hope this email finds you doing well. I have a very important reminder regarding COVID-19 protocols here at VFES.
As we prepare for our return to 5 days/week of in-person instruction effective the week of May 10, we are seeing an unusual increase in positive cases on campus. In an effort to retain our full 5 days/week of in-person instruction I ask for everyone’s cooperation when it comes to the necessary protocols to protect the students, adult participants and staff of our organization.
I am sure, as a parent, you are juggling a hundred different things. However, I implore you to follow the directions and protocols we have here at VFES and The Vanguard School. If you are asked to keep your child at home due to a COVID-related issue, please keep your child at home. If you are asked to come to school to pick up your child due to a COVID-related issue, please come pick up your child within 1 hour of that request (please contact your program supervisor if you are running late). We do not think it is in the best interest of the child to remain in the Isolation Room any longer than he/she needs to be. If your child has symptoms, please keep your child home until the symptoms resolve.
If we hope to return uninterrupted to a full schedule, we all must adhere to these protocols. There is sound reason behind what we do. Please reference the decision tree, the handbook and the health and safety plan
for additional information.
Thank you for your support of our protocols. We are not out of the woods yet. We all need to remain vigilant in our efforts to reduce the likelihood of spread of this virus.
