We Did It!

Congratulations to A.G. Rhodes Board of Advisors member, Jocelyn Dorsey, for being honored at National Philanthropy Day for her commitment to A.G. Rhodes, and for being inducted into The Atlanta Press Club Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame recognizes journalists who have made a significant impact on journalism in Georgia and around the country.

Employee Spotlight: Vanessa Curry
Vanessa Curry was inspired to enter the long-term care industry when she was privileged with the responsibility of caring for her ill aunt in 1983. “The responsibility gave me a sense of accomplishment. Being helpful felt good. I knew this was my purpose.” Read more.
Save the Date: Living Well Luncheon on Feb. 20
The Living Well Luncheon is an annual fundraising event hosted by the A.G. Rhodes Board of Advisors. The next luncheon will be Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020. The speaker will be physician Dr. Monica W. Parker, M.D., an award-winning dementia-care expert who is also an A.G. Rhodes Trustee. Read more.
Distinguished Recognition
CEO Deke Cateau (center) was awarded the “Award of Honor” by LeadingAge Georgia, which is an association of nonprofit aging services providers in Georgia. This is the association’s highest award, and is presented to a distinguished individual who has provided outstanding leadership and whose exemplary service and commitment have enhanced the aging services field.
Also recognized by LeadingAge for graduating from its Leadership Academy were LaShondra Thornton (left), Business Office Assistant at our Atlanta community, and Anita Gafford (right), Staffing Coordinator at our Cobb Community. This program teaches leadership development skills to better equip professionals to serve in the aging services field.
Wesley Woods Community Joins Eden Registry
In another significant step toward transforming and improving nursing home care, A.G. Rhodes’ Wesley Woods community was accepted into the Eden Alternative Registry. This registry consists of 250 national and international long-term care communities committed to improving the quality of life and care for the people they serve.
