Celebrating Community
Step into the heart of RV culture with us, where the open road is our canvas and social connections are the threads that weave our community together. As passionate adventurers, FMCA members understand the value of building bonds, sharing stories, and cherishing the camaraderie that defines our way of life.
This month, we explore the social side of RVing, where friendships are formed in person and on social media, bridging the miles between travelers. Whether you're in search of travel advice, campground recommendations, or a sense of belonging, our community is here to welcome you with open arms.
We might be biased here, but we feel the easiest way to form long-lasting friendships and continued camaraderie is in an FMCA chapter. Within these groups, friendships are forged through shared experiences and gatherings, creating lasting memories. Don't miss the excitement of FMCA chapter rallies, area rallies, and international conventions, where like-minded travelers come together to celebrate their shared love for adventure.
For those tech-savvy nomads among us, rest assured that we've got you covered with insights into FMCA's Tech Connect+ plans, ensuring you stay connected and informed about the latest innovations to enhance your RVing experience.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the social tapestry of RVing – because in our community, every connection is a new chapter in the adventure.

Be Social: Join a Chapter
If you're reading this newsletter, you're obviously a fan of RVing. Why not share your passion for RVing with others who feel the same?
FMCA is home to nearly 300 chapters, or subgroups, across the United States and Canada. Many are geographically based; others are devoted to a specific RV brand or model; still others attract folks who enjoy particular hobbies and interests off the highway, such as music, pickleball, four-wheeling, and NASCAR. Many FMCA chapters have flourished for decades, and new groups form each year. Plus, there's always room for more!
What do FMCA chapters do? Many are groups of RV friends who simply enjoy spending time together. Chapters may hold monthly rallies at locations reasonably close to members' home bases, either on weekends or during the week. Some set off on "rolling rallies" and enjoy traveling to interesting places as a group. Chapters often park together at FMCA international conventions and area rallies and hold get-togethers before and during the events; these are great reunions for RV owners who are scattered around the U.S. and Canada. Information is key in many chapters, including those whose members own vintage RVs and who collaborate with each other on the care and maintenance of their homes on wheels.
FMCA members often describe their chapter friends as their family on the road, always there for companionship — and for help and support should the need arise. Laid back or active, large or small, each FMCA chapter is as unique as its members!
How do you find a chapter? Explore at your leisure on FMCA.com (select the Chapters tab). Or go here. You can search for chapters by FMCA area, state/province, or chapter name — or peruse the entire list. Another source is the Chapter Directory that's published each year in the January issue of Family RVing magazine. You can also read about various chapters and their activities in the magazine's "Family Matters" section.
Want to form your own chapter? The Chapters section on FMCA.com has info to get you started. There's even a chapter recruitment toolkit to help you strategize ways to add new members to your group. Of course, FMCA's Chapter Services department is always happy to help: chapters@fmca.com.

Good Food, Good Times!
Hosting a celebration centered around food is a fun way to make connections with your campground neighbors. After all, few things bring people together more readily than sharing a meal. It doesn’t have to be a full-fledged feast, though. This get-together could be as simple as casually inviting the folks from the next site over to your campfire to make s’mores. Or you may want to take things to the next level by inviting even more of your neighbors to join you for a happy hour gathering or a potluck dinner.
Another fun idea: Organize a progressive get-together at the campground wherein campers sign up to host a particular portion of the meal at their site – starting with appetizers and ending with dessert – a traveling party, if you will.
If you have children on board, consider hosting a movie night and inviting neighbors with kids to participate. Set up a screen and a projector and show a kid-friendly flick. Pop some popcorn, pass out some movie-type candy, and provide some sodas or juice for the little ones.
Need ideas for potluck dishes suitable for campground get-togethers? GlamperLife.com has you covered with 20 Easy Campground Potluck Recipes, and KOA’s Pinterest page also dishes up recipes for Camping Potluck Meals. Need inspiration for stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something like this in the first place? Check out Tips For Entertaining At The Campground from RV blogger Melody Pittman.
Of course, the goal is to make social connections and spend time enjoying RV life in the company of others. Good food is a bonus!
