How YL plans to brings kids and leaders together safely.
You were made for this.
Dear Parents,

We have an update to the email we sent earlier this week; we believe it is exciting news to share in this ever-changing time we find ourselves in.  As an organization that highly values safety for our high school and middle school friends, Young Life has said that our volunteer leaders and staff in Asheville-Buncombe County may restart person-to-person ministry beginning May 23rd with parent permission. However, group gatherings are limited to no more than 10 participants at this time (even if your state or county has allowed large gatherings of greater than 10).

We want to find safe ways to bring kids and leaders together to connect, laugh and learn! In any locations where group activities or events are allowed, Young Life staff and volunteers will adhere to the following precautions for our gatherings:

Young Life Covid-19 Re-Entry Action Plan
  • Young Life will request that children who are not feeling well, experiencing symptoms for the flu or COVID-19, are at a higher risk for severe illness, or who have come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, to please stay home and not attend a Young Life activity.

  • Young Life will encourage kids that attend Young Life activities to take steps to stop the spread of germs.

  • Young Life will make sanitizing products and/or handwashing available at every activity.

  • Young Life will plan activities that minimize hand and body fluid contact.

  • Young Life will thoroughly clean meeting locations, including high contact surfaces and objects which will be cleaned repeatedly.

  • Young Life will meet in locations that provide adequate space to ensure appropriate social distancing (at least 6 feet between meeting participants).

  • Young Life will encourage members to consider alternative greeting habits including avoiding shaking hands and giving hugs.

  • Young Life will identify a space at all meeting locations to separate/isolate people who may become sick and may not be able to leave immediately. Young Life will provide a mask to anyone who becomes sick, and to anyone who will be assisting sick individuals until they can go home.

We are so excited to be together again!
