Breastfeeding Mothers' Support Group provides advice, answers for new moms
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln created a new support group for breastfeeding mothers as they adjust to returning to school or work.

The group, called Breastfeeding Mothers’ Support Group, started in February. Kacey Nelkin Pedersen, a grant coordinator in UNL’s Office of Sponsored Programs {and MilkWorks board member}, said they meet in the Women’s Center the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from noon to 1 p.m. During the meetings, women of all experiences can talk to each other about motherhood. One Day Without Shoes
Cornhusker Bank and People’s City Mission partner annually raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a person’s life by hosting a One Day Without Shoes event. The public has been encouraged to bring their new or used shoes, or cash donations, to help put shoes on the feet of Lincoln’s less fortunate.
Donations can be dropped off at MilkWorks in Lincoln April 1st-12th

Breastfeeding & Babywearing class is back in Omaha! 
Join Nebraska Babywearing Alliance {NeBA} for this fun, interactive babywearing class! NeBA will provide guidance on the many different ways to combine breastfeeding and babywearing. Please bring your baby and any personal carriers for hands on help. Demo carriers will be available. Moms with babies of all ages and levels of experience with babywearing are invited to attend!

While this is a FREE class, space is limited and you MUST register to reserve your spot.
This class is offered ONLY at our Omaha location. 
York Breast Pump & Baby Weigh Station
Save the Date - April 15th from 3-4:30 pm
Our Breast Pump & Baby Weigh Station is offered every month at Four Corners Health Department. Meghan Greken, IBCLC, will be on hand on to greet you and answer questions. Stop by to pick up your breast pump or weigh your baby! Check out our calendar for upcoming dates & times!
Classes
All About Breastfeeding: Take this class in the second half of your pregnancy to get ready for that first feed! You will also learn about all the support services that MilkWorks offers. We encourage you to bring a support person with you. The fee is $25.  
Lincoln: Tuesday, April 9th and 16th, 6-8pm (2-part class) OR Saturday, April 6th, 10am-3pm 
Omaha: Saturday, April 13th 10am-3pm 
Return to Work: Perfect for moms heading back to the workforce while breastfeeding! Join us while pregnant, or when you are on maternity leave. The fee is $15. This class is included with our Pump Service Plan, which is provided with all breast pumps obtained at MilkWorks.
Lincoln: Tuesday, 16th, 1-3pm
Omaha: Tuesday, April 9th 6-8pm OR Tuesday, April 23rd 1-3pm
Introducing Solids: Taught by a registered dietitian, this is an ideal class to attend when your baby is three to six months old. The fee is $15. This class is FREE for mothers who receive consultation services at MilkWorks.
Lincoln ONLY: Wednesday, April 24th 6-8pm {Please note this class is no longer free to consult clients} 
Breast Pumps 101: 
Choosing a breast pump can be easy!  Attend our Breast Pumps 101 class to learn all about Medela & Spectra breast pumps in a fun + comfortable environment. This FREE class covers the ins and outs of using each style of breast pump, including "best practice" tips, cleaning & assembling pump parts, breast shield fit & more! Space is limited and you MUST register to reserve your spot.

IBCLC Consultations
Our Lactation Consultants work individually with moms & babies who are experiencing issues with latch, milk removal or supply, weight gain or any other breastfeeding concerns. Call us for an appointment!
Breast Pumps
MilkWorks is in-network with all major private insurance & all NE Medicaid plans for breast pumps. We proudly carry high quality Medela & Spectra pumps and provide our Pump Service Plan. No appointment is needed.
Baby Weigh Station
Our drop in Weigh Station is open 6 days a week! Stop by for a FREE weight check on a hospital grade scale. We will gladly fax an update to baby's healthcare provider upon request.
